This was the perfect drive, Scott! Thanks a lot for putting all the time into making this happen. The road, the weather, the bbq place... heck, even the breakfast joint, where we stopped on the way to the drive... that little sliding dance my car did at the foot of the serpentine (btw LOVE how the Bimmer handled it - nonchalant, never lost control, very predictable, corrected by a slight counter-steer - never gave me a reason to get scared ) - it was off the hook
Thanks Vlad. So after experiencing the 180 degree ascending and descending hairpins in a 530xi, does this make you want a 550, 335 or M3 to go back and humble those twisties?

I will probably do this as a meet again next spring (unless people PM me and want to run it this fall). Given its distance from NYC, I do not expect that we will ever have a huge turnout for this road but, for safety's sake, that's probably a good thing as it is so easy to lose control and crash on this road.

If you get one of those, I'll be stuggling to keep up with you on the twisties.

LOL if I get one of those, you won't be able to keep up with me in the twisties... or in a straight line

Lucky for you, I'm not getting it any time soon though

yeah, I just saw your post in Kerry's thread. In all honesty, you'll probably get the F10 M5 sooner than I - the M3, so either way, you won't have to worry about me... or will you?

Thanks Anthony.

You'll love this route in your E55 (when you get it). You will really get to learn where the outer edge of your car's handling envelope it. One one of the downhill hairpins which I took as fast as I dared, all 4 of my tires (which normally don't make a sound) were

Gregg and I both got serious air flying off of one rise at speed. The wild rise (and then abrupt fall) occurs when the road cuts through some incredibly hilly farm fields where you think to yourself "how did someone get the stones to actually run a road through this kind of wild terrain?"

But S550s are, right??

Afraid that an E55 would own your M5 in a sprint?
