Where in SD are you located? I may be attending mfest this year. I'm still debating...

Wow! That looks fun! I wouldn't mind driving with a whole bunch of bmw's from the bay area to Vegas

skeeter 01-30-2012 07:06 PM

Didn't a few car wreck last year?

mikracer 01-31-2012 11:29 AM

The drive out the Vegas for Mfest is pretty fun. There's ALWAYS idiots who think they're hot sh*t though and do stupid things like cut you off or pass you on the shoulder. The biggest meeting point is at the Chevron in LA. Probably like 100 cars start out at that spot.

Theres really no car scene in general here. I am lucky in that there are 1 or 2 meets in SLO that Tony puts on and I get to be a part of. The next one will be in March, so if you're up for a little road trip to your future town, its definitely worth it. Check back on the Meet and Greet forum on this site for details on the SLO Meet (ECFest).

As far as MFest goes, pretty much all the caravans leave from their respective meeting points around 5am. I leave SLO to get to the meeting points around 2:30am. If you check on the MFest forum, they will post up a loose itinerary of when they expect to get to the check points. You can try to time it so that you can leave from your place to meet in Barstow. But if you want the full experience of MFest, I would suggest meeting up at one of the caravan spots and make the drive out with the group.
