Just curious, after all the mods u guys have made, sb,pulleys, intakes, etc. Why hasn't anyone gone to the track to c what gains or losses they have made? It seems you guys only test it on the hywy. Which is not the way to do it. Or it seems that u wait for someone to go and get a dyno to that you have loss or gained perfrm. The only way u will c or notice gains is installing gears ,exhaust or cam, heads, intake. Instead of doing a meet to to look at each others cars, why not meet and go down the track?

I don't need a track or dyno to tell me how my car feels though, on the highway and back roads is where it spends its time. The scoop/k&n are the only mods I need to test on a dyno because the difference was negligible to me but I'm not paying $200 to find out how a $99 scoop and a $50 air filter perform. If I was going to race another car them it would be worth my while...but for bragging rights...not worth it.
The meets are social events, its fun to look!

It depends on what you're looking for.
Track testing is the best way to see actual benefit. "If I spend $XXXX, will I see a 1/2 second 1/4 mile gain or a 2 second lap time gain?" However, track tests show top end more than anything, especially a 1/4 mile test that stays in the high RPMs most of the time. A big gain of low end torque would be felt on the street but may not help improve times at the track.
A dyno test can show the whole picture but may not show real world high speed gains (due to lack of airflow, etc).
The butt dyno is important but can be fooled. You might perceive more top end but it might actually be a litte less at the bottom making it feel like you gain at the top.

Jay -
You bring up some good questions but I have to COMPLETELY disagree with the following statement you make: "The only way u will c or notice gains is installing gears ,exhaust or cam, heads, intake."
BTW, do you have scans of your dyno chart, 1/4 mile, auto-x times, or track times?
Michael
