I don't manage LA anymore. However, the agency I'm meeting with is run by folks that were previously in NY, for which I have VERY good relationships with. My counterparts out west have had a hard time breaking in and are asking for my assistance, hence the reason they want me to fly out. Any other meeting outside of that in LA, wouldn't make sense.
Just tell them you have to fly out there cause you might be someone's baby's daddy and you have to confirm. I'm sure they'll understand.
