But those maps take awful loading times on my computer, although I?m on a T1-Backbone, how come? :'(

As I mentioned earlier, you do not have to provide a valid e-mail address to put yourself on the map. I wouldn't worry about getting junk e-mail. You don't need a valid e-mail address even to open an account (like I have).

If members want to contact me, they can always switch over to this forum and pm or e-mail me.

Since there are tonnes of sites that want your e-mail I just set up a free e-mail account with hotmail, that I almost never bother to read and use this. It means that you can get all the registration data etc.. but just keep you main e-mail private.
