Eh, all that it would mean if the Yankees lose? Girardi gets to wear #28 for another year. Chances are Lee will be a Yankee after this season (Texas can't afford him) and that would be scary for the rest of baseball - Lee, CC, Burnett, Hughes in the same starting rotation?

Well Tony, I did suffer through the 80's - when the Yankees seemed to trade away every decent prospect they had. And I am so glad that changed under "Stick" in the early 90's. Since then I have seen Cleveland beat the Yanks, Arizona, Florida - all flashes in the pans (same a Texas) and none have don anything since. And yet, since the early 90's the Yanks have 5 rings.
Like I told Angels fans I work with last year that kept harping that the Angels won the season series from the Yanks: "It don't mean a thing if you aint got that ring" (the parade down the Canyon of Heroes helps too - nothing like it anywhere)
