That was back in January of 2006. We were really lucky that it snowed the night before. Actually, when we got there in the morning, it was still snowing.

We only stayed there one day. I went out to Breckenridge and then we took a shuttle to Vail for a day, and back to Breck.

Nice setup. What kind of board and bindings is that?

*sigh*... I wish I can go boarding. Summer in New Zealand, and winters in whistler , Tahoe, or Switzerland Saas Fee. (I've never been to any.) That'll be such a crazy life.

I had a Vail Season Pass for 2 years in college (University of Colorado at Boulder). One year, I got 58 days in at Vail. Skiied a few other places that year as well, but with the only blackout dates being Christmas, it was a pretty great deal. Crazy part is, the pass only cost $195 if you were 18 or under. I ended up getting kicked out of school for a semester. My parents were not pleased. Pretty much skiied just about every single mountain in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico, Idaho and California. Never got up to Big Sky though. Grew up Skiing at our house in Vermont before I could walk. Don't really care for the east coast mountains anymore.

My Favorite Mountains:

A-Basin (Colorado)
Winter Park/Mary Jane (Colorado)
Steamboat(Colorado)
Purgatory(Colorado)
Copper Mtn (Colorado)
Vail/Beaver Creek (Colorado)
Jackson Hole (Wyoming)
Snowbird (Utah)
Alta (Utah)
Sun Valley (Idaho)
Taos (New Mexico)
Kirkwood (Tahoe)
Squaw (Tahoe)
Whistler
If I were to pick one on the east coast, it would be where I learned...Jay Peak, Vermont on the Canadian Border.

For those that are true, die hard skiiers, you must try Heli-Skiing and Snowcat Skiing in the Backcountry. Once you've done that, you'll never want to ski a regular mountain again. I've been doing it for years with a bunch of my buddies and it's one of the best adrenaline rushes of your life. Nothing beats skiing in untouched, waste high powder, on every run with nobody else around you but 8 of your friends and 2 guides in the middle of the wilderness.

PS - I'm a skier. I've boarded a few times, but skiing is what it's all about. If you know how to ski and ski well, then you know what I'm talking about. Boarders are people that never learned how to ski .

ive done both.. started boarding first.. then i learned how to ski.. which was 10/x easier then boarding.. i flew down those hills on ski's... on the board i busted my ass a few times.. but picked it up quickly.. havent gone in years though.. sis used to bartend up in the mountains upstate.. so we would go up there.. also been to mountain creek.. id rather board though out of the two. its tougher and i like the challenge....then afterwards sit back and warm up with some drinks and music.. lol

This thread is for boarding. GET OUT!

Skiiers are like handicapped people needing crutches (poles). LOL!

I used to ski but but once I was old enough to walk, I picked up boarding.

Kidding aside, I'm sure C can ski in circles around me. Anyway, for those that are planning on visiting Tahoe, let me know and maybe we'll meet you there. There are some awesome resorts in Tahoe; Northstar, Alpine Meadows, Kirkwood, Heavenly, Squaw, Sierra...etc.. The awesome thing is you're probably also close to casinos, especially in South Shore so lots of fun things to do at night too.

Hey Tony - If you visit Tahoe often, you should do a day of this. http://www.pacificcrestsnowcats.com/

These guys just opened this business not too long ago in Tahoe. They're great and their prices are cheap ($275/day). Most Cat companies charge around $400-$500/day, so this is a steal. If you've never been, you should try it.

last year i was at squaw. All i haveto say about tahoe is OFF THA HOOK!!! My favorite spot is likely to be Keystone though, for its night skiing and twilight passes from 2pm to 11pm very nice and even better when all the public is off the slopes. Been to Blue Mount in Pennsylvania, that was good to go, the trails are like half the size of what i would prefer, but u can get in like 20 runs in about 6 hours with lunch. C i might have to consider putting my Ride Timeless down for a day though to try the handicap method, J/K for real though gonna try it at least once. Has any one tried those ski blades not sure if its called blades but its the short skis with no poles. Looks fun! If any one is headed to CO Keystone let me know as we might be in the same spot. It'll be cool to hit the slopes with some members here.
