I spoke with Don aka Znod this evening. Things are fine. He's been keeping himself busy and enjoying life. From what I understand, his interest in the e60 has diminished and the performance testing on the 545i is over. The lease on the 545i will be over next summer and he's looking for a new challenge, possibly a AMG. 
I doubt Don is coming back to this board. It's too bad, I enjoyed reading some of his performance threads. We will miss you, Don! A true enthusiast...

Adter JDN's passing I was a little worried we might have a bad series here...

I had no idea that you guys were wondering about me. I though (maybe) I had indicated I'd be departing (at least until buying a M5), but probably not. I never bought the M5, eventually ending up with a 2008 M-Roadster which I still am enjoying. I am glad I was missed by some of you.
As said, please check out my new post. Maybe you can help out.
I'll probably be posting some in the Other BMW Models forum. We have a new 2014 X5 xDrive 5.0 M-Package in carbon black metallic. We almost bought an M5, but didn't because of some of its characteristics.

Great to hear from you. Glad you are alive and well. The old days were a lot of fun. Don't know much about these days. The F10 5-Series forum seems kind of dead, not at all like "our" 5-series forum. But, maybe I haven't been on board enough this last month to perceive correctly.
