Well, maybe it is a nice idea to do some totally not scientific stuff, and try to compare prices between the countries, which the E60.net members are from.

Of course, there are some loopholes in respect to equipment, packages, exchange rate?s, etc. etc., but it should still be able to give a nice impression on how prices (including taxes!) are divided among the countries.

Oke, let?s take a well-equipped BMW 550i to compare with others.

In Holland, the base price for an 550i is ?98.915 ($156.285,70). Including an Automatic transmission, leather interior, comfort seats, navigation, xenon, active front steering, dynamic drive, HUD, Individual High End audio system and some other small stuff, we get to ?120.855 ($190.950,90).

Although we are not the most expensive country (car wise) in Europe, it is still an impressive figure.

So let?s see, what does a similar equipped 550i cost at your local dealership?

Base price in Canada is $82,900 this includes the MSport Package , nicely optioned they are about 93-95, dealers will discount about 6 or 7 %...............for a cash purchase .........Cheers
