This is a great Forum. We all love BMW's. I thought it might be fun to learn what the BMW Fan does in terms of an occupation. There are so many stereotypes regarding BMW drivers, some good, some bad, some ridiculous. I know there must be marketing data available somewhere, which shows the breakdown, but it may not represent the people on this forum. By the way, I have loved being a part of this forum, and I have enjoyed every post I have read. Furthermore, I have found the courtesy, respect, and helpfulness of the E60 Posters second to none.

Okay, I will start off the Occupation Thread. I bet I do not fit marketing data at all. I am a Public High School Vice Principal/Athletic Director, and a former High School Varsity Football Coach. I work with inner city kids. I enjoy helping the kids succeed, so they can have a better life. It is very stressful at times, at times very frustrating, at times very intense, especially when dealing with gang kids, pay does not correspond with the responsibility; but when a kid makes it or tells you that you have made a positive difference in his/her life, the intrinsic rewards are immense. So, I love what I do.

Thanks for the information. I do not fit ALL of the mold. However, I do fit education levels. In any event, I enjoy who I am and what I do.

Hi Doug:

Not sure, but you might get more info on occupation if you did a poll--using some of tthe typical types of occupational items on surveys. Some of us a bit tight lipped about some things given the nature of the internet and some who frequent it. The data below are about as far as I am willing to go given Lomag's chart.

Male
Post Family (no children at home +45--me)
Age > median
Pre-tax income > $162, 501
Education?undergraduate degree and two graduate degrees
Ethnic group?White/Caucasian

Hmmm... Spookily someone must have sampled my DNA when they laid out the BMW E60 mould.

Occupation: Managing Director for a specialist fastenings manufacturer - we designed and supply the
self-piercing rivets (and their insertion machines) which hold together the aluminium front-end of the
E60 family.
