Somebody sent me this e-mail. Makes a lot of sense
I HAVE TO PASS A URINE TEST FOR MY JOB... SO I AGREE 100%. Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck,
I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their ASS, doing drugs, while I work. . .. . Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? Something has to change in this country -- and soon!

I could not agree more however, welfare keeps many people from becoming desperate and doing crazy things to feed their family or habit. Like break into an innocent persons home to steal valuables, hold you up at gunpoint for $50 ECT. This shiat happens but not nearly as often as in other countries without welfare.

Hmm... Is the idea here to have taxpayers also pay for drug tests for everyone on welfare? And I am not aware of any state in the union that requires drug tests of people on private payrolls expect perhaps for limited professions. If you have to take a drug test it's likely a requirement of your employer not the state. I don't agree with the logic but I understand the emotion.

A positive way to look at is that you're doing hard work to allow for welfare checks, in order to keep a nice society and environment to live in, and for future generations. These checks are whats preventing those people from getting up and robbing, stealing, etc. The hard work keeps you safe. But you will wonder, why do I have to work and they don't to keep a nice and peaceful living environment, two words, "Its Life."

Well, there are certain assistance programs that -do- require these checks. I know that for Section 8 subsidies, the recipients of said assistance must be drug -and alcohol- free. The latter being a standard most upstanding citizens wouldn't meet.
