I have read a ton about this. But I'm still no closer to finding the answer.

I want to know what does each of these terms mean.
-Uner steer
-Over steer

I don't get it.

thanks for the help and your wisdom

Here you go:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Understeer

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oversteer

Good explanations of what each term means, and why it happens.

Hope this helps

Understeer - You turn the wheel but your car keeps going straight
Oversteer - You turn the wheel and the rear of the car feel like you will spin out

In NASCAR they call it tight (understeer) and loose (oversteer).

These are the extremes!

The quickie, non-scientific definitions:

Oversteer - when the rear of the car whips around, sending the car sideways, as seen in every car chase in cinematic history. AKA "fishtailing."

Understeer - when you turn the steering wheel and the car continues in a straight line, as seen when you're going too fast on snow or ice and try to take a corner. AKA "snowplowing."

I believe that this is also how Nascar fans tend to categorize their women

I remember it by associating oversteer which starts with an "O" with Outback back meaning the rear of the car
