Has anyone had any hairy moments with the long arm of the law because off "over enthusiastic" driving?

Lol, two saturdays ago, 10pm, 2 idiots stopped me due to the "tyre and engine noise" and wrote a ticket: in their opinion I was going too fast in the city bla bla, ?120 and 5 points (we have 20 points + you can gain more if you drive well for some years - I have 24)
Once written the ticket, they came there saying "You have 60 days to take legal steps etc." .
I answered "Don't worry, this ticket will be cancelled as soon as possible" .

They wrote I was running too much, making *troublesome* noises for the way of driving and making wheels spinning on a bend (they was 100 metres after the bend, I couldn't know they were there before).

First time in 4 years, never happened before. They were there to stop drunk guys and caught me.

Unfortunately they were officers of the local police, arrogant and stupid, always ready to steal money from citizens.
If they were state police I could try to talk with them.

No, all my run-ins are usually because I never get around to keeping all my various stickers in order. Inspections, registrations, etc...

Most recently, I was trucking along on the highway at about 70mph (limit 65) and a State trooper who had been sitting in the median pulled me. No accusations of speeding, but he noticed an expired inspection sticker (only about a week). I commented that he must have some good eyes, and he replied that he had some good binoculars. I actually think that is more impressive than if he had been able to see it with the naked eye. Imagine trying to track a tiny sticker, checking for the month and year on a car moving at 70mph!!!!

Depending on what state your registered in, your registration tabs on your licence is a different color for each month and year. I guess he had nothing better to do, hope he only gave you a warning since it was only a week expired.

Not lately, but when I was younger, any involvement with traffic enforcement was due to speeding (ie. breaking the law). The formula for not speaking to an officer at roadside is simple.

No, it wasn't the tabs on the plate. It was the sticker on my windshield. Either way though, different color or not... one has to correctly identify the month. In other words - let's say my inspection sticker ran out in April 08 (it did). The May-Dec 08 stickers would all be the same color.

Not lately ... but when I was a young lad, it was mainly for speeding.
