Hi All:
Well, the time has come for my hip replacement. Some of you know, but about 35 years ago I had a serious motorcycle wreck that virtually destroyed my left hip. I had an extraordinarily low probability recovery with no hip replacement, and my hip was very good for about 25 years despite a very active lifestyle--including heavy duty running and cyclying. But, about 10 years ago my ability to do things started downhill. At this point, I cannot walk even a mile or so without significant pain, etc., etc. So, Wednesday morning is the day. Then, I'll be ready for my 3rd comeback--motorcycle wreck, skydiving accident, and now hip repacement.
It will be great to be able to exercise more seriously again. Now I can lose that extra 10 or so pounds. But, darn, I am going to miss driving my cars for a while. I have no idea how long before I will be able to drive a manual. But, of course, the 545i and X5 are very user friendly so I'll probably be driving them before I am supposed to. Shoot me some positive thoughts on Wednesday morning please. My prognosis is excellent since I am very healthy and still pretty fit despite it all.

Good luck and you must be sure that we all be thinking positive about you on Wednesday. 
But hey, your hands will be free to post your good news a couple of days after, so take your laptop by your side, maybe you like to have our company when you will start to feel better and I'm sure that it will be fast enough!!

Thanks much guys (and, should I say it? Yes. and jiio ). I should be home by Thursday afternoon if everything goes as expected. My surgery has been planned for some time, but the Floyd Landis thing was very interesting. And, I certainly am glad he won. I can't imagine how he could even ride in the the Tour with an arthritic hip. I am going to start dancing again too. I'll do the bunny hop first and then the hip hop. Ho Ho. Actually, we used to dance a lot so doing so again will be much fun. Thanks again for the kind thoughts.
