While I wonder about the actual performance (grip, acceleration, fuel efficiency, etc), it is a really cool idea. Can you imagine the possiblities?

I saw one time on the flintstones when they first invented the wheel, it was made out of stone. The crazy part was, the road was made of inflatable rubber. You could see patches where they repaired it everywhere. It was rather humorous...

I also believe that if this were to go mainstream, how could you repair a dent in the steel without having to get/purchase another one. Mounting and balancing would cost about as much as two arms and 1 leg.

+1 Agreed, the technology is very interesting, just don't think it's quite ready for primetime yet. At least not on any kind of performance car.
