My Ride: 08 550 Carbon Sport Almost everything factory, but no sound upgrades.
This (below) was buried in another thread and I never got any response.
I can't look at all these profund YouTubes and other vids.
Need help!
Lately, I cannot run UTubes. Get message ...
Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.
As far as I know java is enabled and the AFlash player is the latest.
What else could I look for?
Was a problem only in the past few weeks.
Any suggestions?

Much obliged, Alpine.
But I decided to format my hard drive. It has a bunch of annoying crap on it.

I'd go with Spybot / Adaware and a good scan with Macafee or Norton, and then run some disc utilities (defrag, etc) to straighten things up. Even Microsoft LiveOne Care is still available and free - it will do a pretty thorough job of accomplishing the job all at once.

Why would you decide to format your drive to clean out the crap? Reinstalling your OS and apps is way too time consuming.

hey amico, I'm retired and time required is not serious issue. (I now have all that time when I used to look at my investments!)
Then:
A clean hard drive is like a clean bench in my garage. A clean registry weeds out lurking drags on the system.
Much of the "crap" was not rogue stuff found by Nortons and Webroots of the world. Just crap that I could not delete with the MS Add/Remove feature.
I routinely save all data on an external HD, so nothing is lost. I even save executables from programs I want to recover.
I have not yet reinstalled Adobe and Java so I don't know if my original problem is behind me.
Thanks for your concern.
