Picked up a fixed penelty speeding ticket last night.....it was a fair cop, served me right.

Interestingly, the police were in an UNMARKED E60 mystic blue 530d poverty-spec patrol car......fog lights had been replaced with blue flashing lights....only realised too late when the flip-up POLICE STOP sign appeared in the rear window.

Watch out folks M8 Glasgow!!

DD........now not got a clean licence

Should have tried to distract them by getting them to show you the differences between their car and yours!

they had a really nice video recording system bolted to the centre console....shame it had a film of me going too fast!!!

all said and done, they were pretty decent about it, they could have been nasty and not offered the fixed penalty but insisted in reporting me to the fiscal as I was somewhat faster than I should have been going.

why the hell are urban motorways, deserted at 12:30am, still 50mph limits...

oh well, one down to experience and I've set the audible warning in the car to 50!!!!!

Better cancel the M3/M5 order otherwise Mrs D and Dieselettes may be visiting Mr. D in the pen. That is if the cops manage to catch you.

At one point it was seriously 3 figures plus !!(although I couldn't possibly comment with any authority!), guess they commuted the sentence for a fellow emergency service worker

There are several fully battenberged 530d's here but this unmarked one was the first stealth one I'd seen, they usually have impreza wrx unmarked cars or merc C320 unmarked traffic cars.

I've a pal who works for the traffic division (different county unfortunately) and he just got a liveried 535d to trial.....you would not believe how little the police pay for them!, though who wants a cloth seats, no extras 535d with a big light-bar on it!

Sorry to hear that!!

I just got myself my first ticket this summer..

260 ? because I drove 70 km/h at a 50 km/t road... big road - 4 lanes a summer morning, NO traffic at all!

And the worst: I drove a Audi A3 1.6 (102 hp)

here a fixed penalty is ?60 or ~ ?100 but 3 penalty points on your licence.....if you reach 12 you get a ban from driving!!
