Well, it was a moment of temporary madness on my part.

Joining the M1 from the A46 at about 12 noon I noticed an E60 530d in front. He noticed me and I promptly saw the indicative plume of black smoke from his twin rear exhausts as he booted it.

OK - bit of fun then, in DS mode already, kicked down, it dropped 2 gears and in an instant I'm already travelling the same speed, he pulls onto the M1 slow lane, I check the mirrors and see the second lane is clear, so foot back down, she picks up her skirt and flies past into the middle lane, 530d overtaken without really trying.

Anyway, I pulled back into the slow lane and waited for the 530d to pass - which it did but we didn't exchange any gestures of goodwill!

It was a tungsten gray car looked like on 18' 124's - anyway - if it was anyone on this forum sorry - just thought I'd put a bit of perspective into the performance claims of the 530d

Keep up the good work. I don't get to blow away diesels here in the USA, just E500s :devil: . But remember to be nice while you do it, they are fellow E60 drivers.
