Damn using a DSLR is hard enough, but you guys using photo enhance programs to make the pictures even better are insane! Looks good

are you shooting in RAW?

here's was my first attempt at HDR, this is a 7 image HDR.
I've shot RAW a few times but I honestly couldn't see any differences, or perhaps I am still a newb on photography.
All I could see was that it was similiar to Jpeg and RAW format took more memory.

Based on your sample though I may have to look into it again

Thank you! I'm actually still learning myself. I need to work on my composition more cause I keep taking pictures with cluttered backgrounds

Hey John, if that was your first, lets see your latest. That first attempt was pretty slick. I can only imagine your progression.

If you shoot RAW, you likely don't even need multiple exposures. I sometimes process my RAW with the linear setting in DPP and combine it with the regularly processed image. For example:

This single exposure was taken on the Isle of Capri.

RAW image processed normally. Notice the blown highlights in the surf and the washed-out skies:

RAW image processed as linear data. Notice the highlight areas now have usable detail:

Combined image (also using Photomatix) from the two processed images:

It's quick and dirty, there are some things I'd clean up and tweak in the image, but you get the idea.
