My Ride: In a place where the Mercedes density is the highest in the world (no. of MB per square kilometer) I choose a Bimmer, why? because of one thing "The Ultimate Driving Experience"

My guess is that further up the escalator, there's a low overhang that the sign is warning about.

The sign is meant to show the people where the escalator is, but be careful about hitting your head on it
You see these signs in big department stores, but not quite that low (go figure). :'(

Placed like that, along the traveling direction of the person escalating, I guess he won't see what's written on the sign, so, in theory, this would be a sign warning on-lookers that people might crash with the sign?
