My Ride: On Order for European Delivery 550i SilverGrey Sports, Winter, Prem Pkg, Prem sound, NAV, HUD, comfort seats
Cool

I will be taking euro delivery of a 550 on 11/11 Friday a.m.
flying with the missus.

Will have Fri / Sat / Sun / Fly out Monday noon to go and tour around.

*Considering* day in Munich, drive to Salzburg, drive to Garmisch-Partenkirchen but right now the schedule is wide open (except for Fri a.m. pickup )

Anyone have any cool things to do / go to / see that I shouldn't miss.
I want to take the factory tour.

Recommendations?

Thanks In Advance

Cyclist,

Muncih itself will offer you a fun-filled three days of entertainment. If you plan on going to Salzberg, you could definitley spend a few days there, too. Garmisch is nice but put it last on your list. Munich is awesome. I am in the US Army and stationed about an hour and a half north of Munich. I have been there a few times, and I still find new things to do. Don't forget to eat at the Hofbrau Haus in Munich.

(Sorry - I missed your first two lines! This is for everyone else going to M?nich shortly)

You are lucky!! Sep 17 until Oct 3, you can experience "Oktoberfest" (world's biggest beer party) in Munich! After that you will really understand what kind of "Bavarian magic" is behind your car! A good advice is to leav your car at home when visiting Oktoberfest (don't drink & drive)

Take the Romanic Road to Rotenburg. We went there when we did ED last October. You won't regret it. Here is an info link: http://www.romantic-road.info/

Cyclist,

I will be there a few days ahead of you scheduled to pick up my 550 on Nov 7. We are planning Prague, Vienna, and Innsbruck trips. I am curious to hear how your purchasing experience has gone. We should compare notes.

If the weather's nice, visit the monastery/ brewery at the Kloster Andechs, in the village of Andechs just south of Munich. You can't get plowed and drive, but you can have lunch and at least one of you can have a beer. It's a nice location on a nice fall day.

Go rent a rowboat and row around the Konigsee south of Berchtesgaden.

Hi Cyclist,

I am also doing ED on a 550 picking up on 11/11 (perhaps we'll meet for breakfast in the BMW cafeteria !). My wife and I are flying into Frankfurt earlier in the week then taking the fast train to Munich early on 11/11. This will be my 4th ED experience ! Its a blast. I really enjoyed Saltzburg and Vienna (be sure to buy the Austrian window sticker).

Will send some info soon on other things to do/see in Munich. We are staying at the Munich Marriott (i know a great pub/beer garden close by with excellent food !).

Cheers,

Roland
