I will be spending this week in London and the next one in Paris. I would love to hear your restaurant recommendations for both cities. I've booked lunch at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay and am doing tea at Brown's Hotel. Some of my fav Indian restaurants are in London (Mela and Tamarind) are in London but beyond that, I'm all ears.

In London, Amaya. Located just off Belgrave Square. Outstanding Indian, fine dining with a great wine list. Ken Lo's for chinese. For Thai, Patara on Beauchamp Place...

Thanks! I have heard great things about Amaya. I think I'm going to give it a shot.

Me being indian I would say Mela has authentic taste. What are your favorite dishes?

Check out Le Grand Vefour and Guy Savoy in Paris. The Grand Vefour was probably the most expensive dinner I've ever enjoyed, but absolutely sensational. It had the full three Michelin Stars when I last went, Guy Savoy also has three stars. For London, you're spoiled for choice. Some of the very best restaurants in the world. You've picked the best of Ramsay's restaurants already (the place you've booked has three Michelin stars).

I would have suggested Heston Blumenthal's 3 Michelin stars The Fat Duck but if you're there next week there's zero chance of a reservation. This is one you plan for more than a month in advance.

It was voted best restaurant in the world in 2005.

It has been about 5 years since I've been there. What I do remember was that everything was terrific.

Thanks for the Paris tips. Yes I snagged a lunch table for Gordon Ramsay Restaurant because I was too late for dinner. Time to see if the food measures up to his reputation.

Thanks for the tip. I will try to snag a cancelled table.
