I saw the artist actually make one... For the little kids, what he did was, he took a little doll, positioned it and taped it up. Then he cut in specific places to remove the tape in two or three pieces. Then he taped those pieces back together and viola. To make the life sized human models, he used himself (same exact way). It was actually pretty cool to watch.
