We used to have a fairly healthy "what watch are you wearing" or "what do you have" thread in the Lounge, but I haven't seen it in a long time. Is that something worth bringing back or starting up again?

I recently added something to my clan...

Yes. Good timing, pun intended. I'm planning on getting my g/f a timepiece for either her birthday or Christmas. My budget's between $1 - 2$K. I would have a high budget if not for her birthday being 5 days before Christmas. Can you recommend any nice woman's watch in that range? BTW, she loves gold. I was thinking of getting a watch with a silver/gold band. Thanks.

VT - Get her this watch. The best part about getting her this, is when she tells you she hates it and would never wear it, you now have a watch to go with your new ride.

Nope. I'm not a watch aficionado. Anyhow, I'm getting her a purse as well. I need to make her forget the amount of money I've dropped into both my 545i and E63.

Omega makes some beautiful women's watches. It will cost you a bit more but if you are prepared to go there it's pretty good value IMO and won't break the bank (considering the sky is the limit when it comes to watches/jewellery) Good luck.

VT, I know a thing or two about watches. Also my wife works at a high end jewelery store here in Minneapolis. She is actually starting to surpass my watch knowledge which is a bit emasculating. The store she works at sells: Raymond Weil, Baume & Mercier, , IWC, Rolex, Jaeger-Lecoultre, Cartier, Panerai/Ferrari, Patek Philippe. Omega, Breitling(just dropped the line), and Tag Hauer are a few they don't carry. Pricing is anywhere from $1000 to over $200K. I would spend a little more on a timepiece, rather than a purse. A nice piece typically doesn't depreciate in value and limited ones actually appreciate. My wife would rather have nice purses, she has a purse problem, which means I have a purse problem. As for me, I am into Panerai's at the moment. Rolex is nice but everyone has a Rolex. Patek is by far the finest but more than I am willing to spend. She has a Breitling. I am a little anti-Breitling at the moment and I actually went as far as to sell the three that I owned, service at Breitling angered me to no end. Let me know if I can help you at all, there are so many options out there. I don't have all the answers but she might and she would be able to answer purse questions.

Love Panerai. Question for you...does your wife carry Frank Mueller? I'm trying to source a very hard to find piece for my wife and having a very difficult time finding it. It's the Ladies Conquistador in Automatic. They make it in Quartz too, but I want the Automatic. I believe Frank Mueller only makes 10-20 of these watches a year. I'll hold off from displaying the price on this post, but PM me if your wife can get it and I'll tell you roughly what I'm willing to pay for it.

C, They don't carry it. But I can sure check on the availability. They can get pretty much anything, even if they don't carry it. I'll check into it for you.

You don't think I did that slick? You don't think that everyone says they have it, but when you call, you find out it's the Quartz version. Trust me...been there, done that. Nobody has it. Sucks.
