I just ordered V1 and planning to hardwire it next to the rear view mirror.
Thanks to Don Juan and others for pictures and install instructions.

Escort Passport SRX. The laser "shifter" works. Trust me.

Nice installs. Where can I find these instructions for the direct wire mount up by the mirror? I could not find any switched power links up there when I looked (albeit very delicatly and briefly). The only convenient place I could find the needed power in an easy to reach place was down to the right of the gearshift. So I wired my valantine1 direct wire kit there. I dod not make any holes or anything perminent, so I can move it. Here is a picture of my instalation:

I'm putting in the K40 2000.
Will post pictures when the install is complete.
This is the system I had in my older bmw. Saved me many times!!

My 8-year-old V-1 guided me reliably for 2300 cruising miles last week. It spotted every potential problem well in advance. The counting of bogeys plus the locating function make it very reliable. When I find a bogey behind me, I lay on the pedal until the lights go out. Without the locating function, I would be hamstrung.

I am bringing this back from the dead because I am getting close to D Day (Delivery Day)

First, based on what I could find, Laser shifting is Illegal in CA. Check this Web Page

Second, I was looking at possibly installing the Passport SR7 Plus Concealed Detector versus getting one of the windshield mounted, for convinience, and theft purposes. I know it is $$$ but like the idea of clean install. A company will be able to install, and integrate display into the instrument cluster.

Okay, CR, but I find it a lot easier and less distracting to look in the rear view mirror area than to drop the eyes back to the instrument cluster. I discovered this while driving a friend's vehicle who had the remote V1 installed.
