looks like I need to purchase a new pool sweep. This is the first house we'vd had a pool, so I was hoping the ya'll could provide so suggestions....

Pool sweeper? hhmmm. High maintenance, don't have a pool. Sorry.

my bro has a guy come out once a week....for about 35 amonth....to clean his pool...but im sure you can buy those with a auto pool floor cleaners..sorry wish i can help ya more

Bokke, I would recommend a Polaris, either a 380 or 480Pro. My Daughter has a 380 for her pool and it does an excellent job. You still have to skim the pool though, unitil you get an automatic skimmer.
