Photoshop Help

Hey Guys,
I need someone good with photoshop to help me out. I was hoping one of my friends could do this for me but he's having issues for some reason or just plain busy. Basically it's in regard to the E60 cling and the tshirts, hoodies everyone wanted a few weeks ago. I need to make the image have white letters with a _transparent_ background and then another image with black letters and a _transparent_ background. Currently the images have a solid black or white background which is noticable when being printed on the clothing, mugs, etc... so we need to make them transparent.
I've attached one of the images we're working with. We need to keep it's large pixel size. If you can help, please click the image and download the full size 1495 x 370 version. The image has black text and a solid white background. Can anyone make that background transparent easily? Then we'll need to invert it, so the text is white with a transparent background for the second image.
