Here in the hills of Thousand Oaks, we see these with some regularity, they are actually timid, not deadly, just big and hairy! 
My little girls just watch them walk along, without fear...it's pretty cool, I'm not sure if I had had boys instead, they would have been any calmer!

That's pretty cool. We used to have tarantulas where I lived in Costa Rica. Not too keen on them, so we just sort of co-existed. I'd rather have my dogs, tyvm.
