New tint law in NY
#1
Just when I thought NY can't get any worse I see this.

New law that is almost passed in NY. Now your car cannot pass inspection if you have window tint.
Looks like NY is going the way NJ went a few years ago. No problem for me, I know placed where I can pass and I have a DMV approved note but still a problem for 75% of the people who have window tints. At least in NJ you could tint the rear windows, in NY you cannot even tint those.
The whole "protects the cop" statement is 100% BS, if someone wanted to harm the cop, tinted/no tint would not stop them.
In my area you pay 30k taxes, have absolute shit roads, insane tolls, insane gas ($4.57 for premium), useless cops, etc, etc.
Time to register the cars out of state.

Did you even read that law? It only says that checking the window tint has been added to the inspection and those that are "illegally tinted" don't pass. It doesn't say that the windows can't be tinted, just that they can't exceed the allowable limits and pass.
