I grew up listening to 90's rap, so it has never been the same. 99% of the stuff out now is crap.
Couldn't agree more. Lil' Wayne, Jeezy, The Game, whoever...no one lives up to The Chronic, DoggyStyle and some 36 Chambers.

Like everything else...hip hop has evolved...it's definitely not what we grew up with, but I am sure our parents said the same thing when we were banging out to some NWA or illmatic, liquid swords, low end theory, etc...

C'mon everybody, lighten up on the new stuff. Who says what is real hip hop/rap or whatever? Let these kids get their money and stop hatin! If it's got a hot beat and it sounds good in the e60 than just keep boppin your head. Too many people nowadays are over criticizing music. If an artist goes gold/platinum/aluminum that means they are appealing to somebody.

All music has evolved r&b is not harold melvin anymore, rock and roll is not elvis anymore, and country isn't (well I dont listen to country) you know what i mean...

Its music, if you dont like it press the little up button on the steering wheel!

+1, CHURCH!!!

I love me some west coast hip-hop music, but honestly there is nothing hot coming out from here. The south is still on fire. Beats are sick, you can't but not move your head and bounce where you hear some of these songs. Albums I am waiting on...Jeezy, T.I., and Khaled. Their singles right now sound sick in the e60. I applaud any artist that goes platinum in this day and age of piracy/mp3/torrent DL'n. They gotta be doing something right.

True/Real hip-hop arguements are like arguing MB vs. BMW or the e60 vs. the genesis . Listen to what you like or hit the ">" button

Personally, I liked Hip Hop is Dead. For me it kind of had that same theme of jay-z's "kingdom come". These guys are 30+ and their music on those albums reflect that. The albums had more a mature theme to them and not so much of the gritty street rhymes there use to spitting. IMO

Thats the thing, it isn't just about a good beat. It is so much more.
