Yes, that's very good. I've always liked amusing plates (and was Deputy Commissioner of NY DMV for a while, so I've "seen 'em all").

Five in German is FUNF (with umlau over U). You could try for that or maybe FUNF50. (They may get a little nervous about FUxx plates), but you could always ask for the umlau over the U.

My favorite BMW plate was my old one that I had on my bike for years (and until recently, my avatar here) BUMWA. It stemmed from a 1971 story when a guy asked me how to pronounce the name of my car (now my avatar). I responded: "B M W." He said, right, but how do you SAY it? "Is it bim-WA or BUM-wa?" I nearly drove off the road and have told the story a thousand times since.

I have had a two-digit plate for about 30 years (long before phonetical games), that still rides around with me and is easily seen in all the wrong places..... I believe less is more.

My Ride: 525i, Orient Blue, bought used with 22000 miles. Grey lether, sport package, BMW Assist, Cold Weather package. Xenons. NOT premium for some reason, I do like the metal finish vs. the wood, but do miss the garage opener.

Your tag says "hate" phonetically? I dunno.

Those are great choices as well.

I also was thinking of something along the lines of WHY H8 ? or DONT H8 !, but I dont know how the guys at the DMV will be towards the "?" or the "!" symbols.

I know the guys in jail who make these don't care what to put on there!

I've been thinking of getting this one... or else a non-vanity with the same underlying design.
that's funny uuronl. i thought about getting the same plate...and we both have '06 silver gray 530i's. great car owners think alike?

i also thought about F3V3R 5 as in fever 5. rolling a 5 in dice is "fever dice" or "fever 5" but its the play on the word fever (from merriam-webster dictionary) 2 a : a state of heightened or intense emotion or activity. because WE all know that rolling in a 5 is a state of intense emotion

calif dmv denied b/c you are not allowed to represent letters with numbers and vice versa. oh well.

I'm not sure they do 1s and Is. In most states, the 1 and I are the same. One that I've seen that is very hard to discern is a mix of Qs and Os.
In Florida the 1s are distinguishable from the Is. For instance we could not get BRASIL, BRAS1L or BRAZIL as they were taken but could get BRAZ1L.

Wow, not in VA. What a mess - then go for a mix of 1s and Is. I bet they'd never be able to run your plate. Ever.
