So here I am in Daytona Beach, and as you may know, the last week has been race week here at the Daytona International Speedway. Well last night was the NextEra Energy Resources 250, and I stumbled upon part of a truck bumper in the dumpster. So of course, I took it ![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.png)
It's what's left of the bumper after a wreck, so it's really beat up and scratched, but it's a helluva souvenir. But now that it's back in my dorm, I realize how useless it is. Like it's pretty bulky, so I can't really hang it up anywhere. Plus I'm just not really a NASCAR dude in the first place, I just happened to get tickets.
So, should I keep it? Sell it? For how much?
Oh yeah, it's from the number 88 Mernards truck. He actually finished in 5th.

Take some tin snips and cut it into little pieces and sell them for $5 each on e-Bay. At that price, even the most discerning collector of NASCAR haute memorabilia will be tempted.
Just curious, but what is it made of? How much does it weigh?

I am on a weekend duty, it is a watch. I basically have to answer phones and monitor e-mail. NO emails or phone calls all day. I have pretty much been on this and city-data forums all day. I have an hour-and-a-half left in my 12 hour shift. good thing is i only have to work 2 days this week!!! i am detailing my ride for the first time in about 6 months, and putting the bike back on the road.

Alpine Girl, that guy must have multiple twins cause I saw him everywhere at the speedway!
CWS530, I really like that idea. If this thing ends up just getting in the way I'll probably cut it up.
It seems like the majority of the bumper is fiberglass, and the black lip on the bottom is all carbon fiber.
NASCAR has never really interested me too much either, but I have to admit, actually being there was pretty ridiculous. I managed to get hot passes which allowed access to the garages and pit, and it was damn cool. You could get right into the pits and lean against the spare tires and stuff. Hell, my friend and I even met a three star general! Definitely worth it in my opinion. Plus, watching the crews change wheels and refill gas in under 10 seconds?! Ridiculous!!
