I agree Gene, this is very disturbing news. Especially when you consider that this could affect not only the x35 cars, but the 550 is now a TT V-8, the M5 will be a TT V-8, so if they can't seem to get the I6 HPFP right what expectation can we have as to the reliability of the others? Since the V8's will need MORE fuel to motivate.

well the TTV8 has been out for some time now in the 7 series and X6...no reports yet of hpfp failures in those models AFAIK...so hopefully it stays this way and only sticks with the I6 FI models...

There's still a NA V8 to be had in the BMW line-up Gene...

its is very very frustrating to think about it...BMW, an engine company as much as a Car company will no longer make NA high performance engines. I cant believe Im even saying this! The S65 is the end of the line of BMW NA history and its quite tragic.

So, whats next...a few random thoughts are, just keep the Beast and wait for M to reverse course and see the failures of turbo Ms (yeah right!) or, buy the last model year of the S65 and stay in the NA world for another 3-4 years under warranty...or, cheap out and buy a 128i!!!!!!!

but, the alternatives are even worse...look at a different automaker like the P-cars, atleast a Panny can be gotten NA

but-but ofcourse, the damn F1x 6er is soo damn sexy, and the 6 Gran Coupe looks to be a winner as well and just kills the Panny in the looks department, so I may have to swallow my pride and get a non-M TTV8 and Dinan that b*tch to the tune of 495+hp. I will say for certain though that I will NOT NOT NOT buy an M turbo car (at least not for my next car!)

Same around here actually, at first, I'd see those led strips approaching and wonder who/what was trying to catch-up, now I can easily pick them out in the rear view mirror as they are all over the place! I will say with 100% honesty that I have seen 10 pannys for every 1 F10s, seriuosly! There just are nearly no-F10s around but the pannys are everywhere, go figure

So what's next in your stable??

I always wondered why BMW decided to build engines with turbo's instead of superchargers like Audi, Jaguar, MB, and GM. Only Porshe and Nissan seems to have it figured out and both of them have been making turbo charged engines much longer than BMW has.

most of the panny's I've seen are the non turbo tho....

as far as my stable, still looking, but have been test driving a few other bmw models outside of the f10...sucks that the f10 is not my primary choice

my current CA did already let me know we should be placing an order in the next few weeks to take delivery before lease end....
