Hi Guys,

I just found out that my Alpine White 530i was keyed on the rear right door :'( . It's not really noticable with I can see those two lines (each is about 0.5m long). One is a little deep and the other one is quite shallow.

Can touch-up shop fix this easily and how much would it costs?

Tough luck. You're taking it well. I would let the dealer take a crack at it. Most dealers have some pretty good touch up contractors that they deal with. Dealerships are always banging up our cars and need to get them looking good again.

There is a chance it can be buffed out. If not, you probably want to use a good paint shop that can refinish and blend well. That should be under $300.

A good detailer or body shop might be able to color sand and buff them out, as long as it's not through the color layer of the paint--I had good luck once, although it wasn't from keying. Ask your dealer who they use.

Yea, they have great touch-up equipment these days. Problem is the $$ out of your pocket because of some jerk-off.

From the movie "Pulp Fiction"

LANCE: Still got your Malibu?

VINCENT: You know what some f**ker did to it the other day?

LANCE: What?

VINCENT: F**kin' keyed it.

LANCE: Oh man, that's f**ked up.

VINCENT: Tell me about it. I had the godd**n thing in storage three years. It's out five f**kin' days -- five days, and some d**kless piece of s**t f**ks with it.

LANCE: They should be f**Kin' killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution.

VINCENT: I just wish I caught 'em doin' it, ya know? Oh man, I'd give anything
to catch 'em doin' it. It'a been worth his doin' it, if I coulda just caught 'em, you know what I mean?

LANCE: It's chicken s**t. You don't f**k with another man's vehicle.

We need to adopt laws like they have in Singapore.

Auto vandals are punished by public torture.

Remember that dumbass kid from USA who got caned?
Now THAT is justice.

Oh... by the way. Consider yourself lucky your car is white. 95% chance you can just use rubbing compound on the scratches and they'll go away.

I have a similar sort of problem - The dog loves jumping into the boot of the car whenever it can, and scratches the sill in the act. They're v. shallow, but quite wide. Whats the best way to remove them?
