After waiting unpatiantly, it appears that my car is in Dallas and ready for me to pick it up. I leave tomorrow to spend a few days in Dallas and then pick it up on Monday. Hurray for me!!!!!! It has been driving me insane driving a mini van for the last month.

In case no one knows I just returned from a 5 year tour in Germany and my car was shipped from Bremerhavan to Dallas.

Welcome back! Must have been great to drive your 530i in Germany all that time.

BTW, I like your family website (click "My 530i" link) - very nice.

Thanks guys!

First the reunion was great. It was so nice to see my car again but then the fear set in
I walked up to my car and noticed that the drivers side door handle was missing!!!!!
Next I found a scratch on the hood that requires repainting the hood!!!!
Then, I found that my right side skirt had been curbed and needs to be replaced as well!!!!!
Lastly, apparently the guys on the boat had some fun in my car. There was soda spots on my right rear door and what else do I find on the door but a cut. Luckily that can be repaired!!!!!!

The damage appears to be $970 to fix it. Luckily the government has to pay for it. So right now either my wife has to open the door from the passenger side or I role the windows down with the remote.

Word of advice, let BMW ship it if you can because these bastards don't care about your car. Other people were claiming damage at the same time and it was sad that the damage could have been resolved with a little extra care.

Thanks for the comments of my website LowOrbot. When my stuff was delivered my computer messed up so it will be a little while before my website is updated. Moving Sux!

It is a company contracted with the DOD to ship cars from port to port.

The base here is not bad but it is in the middle of nowhere. Instead of driving 5 minutes to 15 minutes to the next village to get things you want, I now drive 1 and a half hours.

Still not bad but my job has changed from instructor to expeditor. Basically I am in charge of explosive loading operations on the Flightline and weapons maintenance on the aircraft. It can be really stressfull.
