Hello fellow people,

i want to see some other places of the world, so i am asking me to move to the USA...

I am 22, and i am working as a civil-engineer (for tunnels and road construction).

I would move to the west coast (NY..?), but i am not quite sure, about the job situation for my job??

How is the salary for this kind of job?!

Does anybody here on the forum work as a c.e.??

Best Regards

Step #1 - Phone the whitehouse, speak to Mr Bush, and ask him to move New York from the east to the west coast.

I am a Civil Engineer, but I'm not saying how much I make . Depends if you work for a private firm or not, but typically they make around $85K to $120K per year for a someone with a P.E. license (Professional Engineer). Of course they can make much more if they are a Project Engineer and a little less than that for a rookie. Good Luck.

The DC area is one of the fastest growing areas in the US, also one of the most affluent. There is only 3% unemployment here. For reference, the US considers an area with 5% unemployment as being "fully employed" - in other words if there is 5% unemployment, they figure everyone who wants a job has one.

With such high employment, this makes salaries for skilled people quite high compared to other areas and they often have to recruit from outside the region. Housing isn't cheap, but you can live comfortably with what you'd be able to make.

There is an abundance of culture and multiculturalism, and you can fly to most anywhere via a direct flight from the International airport there (Dulles).
