+1 debadged is a good look... it keeps people confused... then when you blow them they're like, must be a 530i, when you meet them later and find out its a 520d remapped, they're shocked!!
This reminds me of the race that night.
I was racing with SLK350 and IS350 from Seattle, WA to Bellevue, WA. Mine is a 525i. Both are my new friends since I just met them about a week before or so that night.
I can tailgate both cars at the same time and sometimes passed them.
After the race was over, they thought that my car was a 530i or 545i.
But, I said , that's a 525i. They were really shocked.
They just tasted the BMW "Ultimate Driving Machine"

I've never understood why people do this
People who do their cars up to look like something more powerful but then you lift the bonnet!! What's the point? Surely it's better to have the power to back up the looks?
I've always preferred understated looks with hidden power hence why I always debadge my cars. I prefer 'sleepers' to cars that scream........."Hey, look at me, I'm powerful" then they put their foot down and pull away like an asthmatic ant carrying heavy shopping.

*Note - For legal reasons Mr Five in no way condones racing of any kind on the public highways.

I sold the car (the audi on page 2) after this embarrassing moment:
I was on an audi meet, some guys were looking at the car and discussing about the S4 they thought they saw (it had the complete body set, interior, steering wheel and wheels of the S4). Then a Little boy (he was like 10 years old or so) steps up to the car looks through the window and yells : It not an S4, it's a diesel, look at the maximum RPM !
I swear I will never use a badge of a type the car is not, unless it's the other way around.
