This video is still the ultimate example for me, I've posted this here before but it's something that clearly shows just how much faster around a track a modern F1 car, with Mr Schumacher at the wheel, is compared to a Ferrari road car (a 550 Maranello) and a regular Fiat.

I do that to M5's all the time... Lap them around the road... But the M5 I go against is parked...

Sort of like watching a tiger play with a mouse (no offense M5 owners -- applies to just about any street car). Hell, a Bugatti Veyron could not keep pace with a F1 car in the turns.

Ummm a Bugatti Veyron couldn't probably keep pace with an M5 on some twisties. That car is a mess on track for the hype it gets. A Lotus that costs like what 100 times less could put that car to shame on a very twisted track.

Andrei, you might be surprised... The Veyron is very good on a track. It is the 6th fastest car around the Top Gear test track, for example, whereas the E60 M5 is back in 50th place.
That is not a track car whatsoever. That's whay i may have exaggerated back in my statement, as comparing an F1 car (track wise) to a pig of a Veyron is completely out of place. There are much better cars out there that have maybe half the power but are faster on a track, especially on a twisted track.
Take a look at the Nordschleife lap times: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordsch...test_lap_times
You'll see that the Veyron is slower than a Porsche 911 Turbo or GT2 or a Nissan GTR. That's just nuts !!! For a car that has 1000bhp. And the Nordschleife is not considered an all around twisted track. It's considered a complete track having also very long straights where for sure the power of the Veyron should compensate for smth, yet still it just provides a "modest" time. The Corvette ZR1 driver would have time to stop the car, get out and order a coffee till the Veyron would arrive

A really nice one kgmccarthy
I have seen Formula 1 cars live and in action, but I'm always surprised how tiny the cars are.
But very, very fast!
I don't know if the acceleration from 0-200 km/h or the braking from 300 km/h to 100 km/h
impresses me more, both are absolutely phenomenal.
And up to 5 G in fast turns.
Formula 1; the way fastest and most hi-tech racing cars in the world!

Yes i saw that but for a car of 1000 BHP one could think it might or it SHOULD get top position or at least on the podium. Put that car on a much twisted track like Pau (France) and you could get a way different result.
