I say keep the badges to what ever the description of the car model is...unless of course you have a heavily modified show car. No badge is fine too...I actually find it hard to read them anyway unless you're right up next to it.

I saw a Toyota Corolla once with full gold plated Lexus badging. It had Lexus on the left, the L in the middle and LS400 on the right. Awesome!!
