Although I rooted for Blu-Ray as a PS3 owner, and kudos to Toshiba for acting quickly, part of me is actually quite saddened by all this. HD-DVD is still a great format, the technology was good, and many people made investments in hardware and software. My take is that the biggest mistake the HD-DVD consortium made was the (now hollow) victory in getting Paramount and Dreamworks to go exclusive on their format as it started the sequence of events that drove Warner into the Blu-Ray camp and the inevitable consequences that followed. If anyone was looking for a decent upscaling player for regular DVD you are going to find some stellar deals on the HD-DVD players that are going to be offloaded soon.

When you say disks, do you mean movie titles or the actual player? I'm going to keep my A35, since it upconverts extremely well (better than my BR player).
