I'll be in New York for Thanksgiving and is looking for
a reputable car service from LGA to my destination.

I have a car rental reservation, but they are closed
on Thanksgiving day (when I get in to NY), so I can't
pick it up until Friday morning.

Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

My law firm has used (and I have used) Valera Global (formerly known as Computer Car) for years. They are top notch and they keep their cars ultra clean. Their service is very reliable and their drivers are well-trained. They are picky about their drivers and get rid of ones who don't follow the service's standards. Our firm went through a bunch of crappy car services before finding Valera.

The only downside is that they are not cheap. Their number is (718) 786-2222.

I'll be in the city, Yonkers and the Bronx depending on what day it is.

I am know the "usual suspects" for rental car companies (Hertz, Avis, etc). None of them at LGA are open on Thanksgiving?

If I wasn't away on a cruise with my son Victor during Thanksgiving, I would have been happy to pick you up at LGA.

Im biased hehe since i work for one of these company's you should use First Class (212) 304 - 1111 make a reservation only the best service best cars and best drivers.

Oo forgot to mention 15% cash discount for instance if the fare is 65.00 and you pay cash it will be 55.00

BTW here's a Russian car service out of Brooklyn 718 336 5200 - if you want some dirty old cars, drivers/dispatchers who don't speak English, to be able to smoke (or drink... or do whatever else, for that matter) in the car and still pay about 30-40% more than a yellow cab, accept no substitute

well, all kidding aside, they really do have older cars and really barely speak English, but they are reliable and inexpensive - I keep their number for "in case" situations - so far no major let downs.

Thanks for all the suggestions and PMs. It will be on Thanksgiving day
and I wouldn't want to take anyone away from family time on this occasion.
Plus, it's not just me -- 4 adults and 1 child altogether

However, I found a rental car company that is open on Thanksgiving
day. It was a little more $$, but worth it for the convenience.

I've got your #, I'll see if I can squeeze some extra time.
My sister's getting married on Friday, her birthday celebration
on Saturday. And on Sunday through Tuesday, we plan on
taking our daughter to the museums [and the zoo].
Most likely it'll be those days when we'll be in the city.
