So here is the story....my grandparents didnt like me driving my rear wheel drive 530 in the snow. The work truck i used to use during the winter was being used by the cowboy out here. So they got me a 2006 Black X3 a few months back to drive during the terrible snow storms. I obviously still have my 530 but it wasnt going anywhere in 13inches of snow.
I have had the worst luck ever with my x3. I was at a ugly sweater christmas party a week before xmas and two idiots got in a fight. Well one happened to launch the other one into my side mirror and smashed it. 750 dollars gone on that deal. Lucky enough for me the two knuckle heads each chipped in half to cover it. No big deal, it was a fun night and was a minor problem. I get the car back from the body shop and during the installation of the mirror they break the wood grain piece on the door. UGGGH...no biggie, they ordered a part and are covering it. Well a week after i get the car back and its all fixed up im out for dinner and drinks. A guy walks into the lounge area and asks "does anyone in here drive a bmw black x3"? I know exactly what is coming next as i tell him the car is mine. Of course he then tells me i hit your car pulling into the parking spot next to you. We go out and check out the damage. His stupid wife is trying to tell me oh its no big deal, get it washed and it will buff out. WRONG....got an estimate $1700. Well then the guy said go to a different place and get another one. Since the car needed to be serviced and my ac fan is making a funny noise, i called Markel BMW in Omaha. The dealership i bought the 5 from. They tell me they will come get it and do the service, fix the ac, and do an estimate. I said perfect...come whenever. Well this morning the guy is knocking on my door. I walk outside with him to get my loaner and half asleep i look in the distance and see something awesome. Black 335i coupe with the red leather, aluminum trim, new idrive, the works. Suddenly all the troubles from the stupid x3 dont even matter....i hope they keep it for a month. I got the white 5 and the black 3 - of course the 3 isnt mine, YET Took it for a spin and this baby hits 100 real fast.

Nice! Let's hope you don't get any big snows while driving it.
Hope your luck changes with the X3. My '06 X3 was 100% like new at the end of its 3 year lease and had only one trip to the dealer for an issue.

i know...me too. Car is so fun to tear around in.
the best thing about it is i get to keep this thing for a few days.
All of the problems havent really been mechanical. Mostly just wrong place, wrong time stuff. I got the call today and of course they couldnt duplicate the sound of the ac fan. Oh well CPO

That's a nice wake-up call
of course, now you got me thinking what it would be like if I was to wake up to a nice car... and all kinds of things... dammit, Brett, why did you have to go and do this to me?! You know what's gonna be on my brain the whole day now!
Kidn'
Have fun with the loaner - the best thing about it is: if the HPFP goes, you don't give a crap!
