Hello,
Please excuse my shameless use of the board for this. I have run this by the Admins and Mark approved it so I hope you all don't mind.
As some of you may or may not know, I'm running the Flora London Marathon and Reading Half Marathon this year on behalf of Bowel Cancer UK.
Henry, my father in law, died of bowel cancer in 2007 and I want to do my bit to support Bowel Cancer UK in it's efforts in raising awareness of bowel cancer, improving the quality of life of those affected by the disease and, ultimately, reducing deaths from the second most common cause of cancer death in the UK.
It's gonna hurt, it's gonna ruin me but only your support can help me through it.
Please click on over to my sponsorship page at the official Just Giving site, (link on the bottom of the post), and sponsor me as much as you can to help me through this! Anything you can sponsor will be very much appreciated and gratefully received. And remember, if you're a UK taxpayer, make sure you select Gift Aid when you're donating as Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation at no extra cost to you.
Thank you so much E60 people,
Marc

Hi Marc,
It's not shameless at all, quite the opposite. I'm happy to add a little. My mother had surgery to remove a cancerous growth in her colon in 2005, and was lucky enough that they removed it all. She's completely cancer free now. I'm sorry to hear your father-in-law's result was not the same.
Thank you for the effort you're putting into this, and best of luck, mate!
Cheers,
--Calvin
PS: Hey, kscarrol, I saw you on there as well! Let's get this thing rolling stateside!

Guys,
This is really quite overwhelming. Thank you so much. You have no idea what your support means.
That is fantastic news about your mother. Hopefully with the help from all the charities out there, there will be more and more great news for people and and their families in the future.
I'm so fired up for these 2 events now.
Thank you again,
Marc

Thank you Calvin,
That would be incredible if I could get every member on there. Even if it's just 1 or 2 dollars/pounds each!!! With the kind of numbers on E60.net, I'd meet my target and beyond in no time!
Thank you for your donation Mel and thank you everyone for your on going support.

Hello E60 Folk,
I hope you don't mind me bumping this thread......I know, I know, it's from February but I'm doing the Half Marathon this Sunday and I'm just throwing this out there again in the hope of getting some more donations to Bowel Cancer UK.
Thanks again to Calvin, Lee and Mel for your very generous donations.
