have decided to take up photography again, so after reading up on what's available out there, i decided on the cheaper d40.
i realize that if i buy any other lens, it needs to be auto focus. but since i don't own any other, i figure the 18-55mm lens is fine by me for now.
once i get the hang of it again, i'll probably have the urge to upgrade - but that's for another day.
anyway, i thought i'd make a video of the unboxing. new toys are always fun

i think in the dslr world, the camera makes less of a difference than the lens. i would put my money on a good lens rather than a camera... And the best thing is: lens keep their values, cameras dont...

cool video and great music choice to match. is that time lapse or did you speed up the video?

Nice! Does the kit come w/ a lens filter? What filter?
for the photogs out there, does a lens hood really help in bright outdoor situations?
a friend of mine swears by it, but wanted to hear your comments. thanks

Nice camera... I had that before and now I have D60... Don't forget to buy a Sigma lense VR 18-200mm, it's cheaper than Nikon VR but they have same good quality, and make sure you have a Nikon SB-400 speed flash.. It's a good combo...
