It tends to get that way in Europe for some reason during the spring and summer months. I have a 20-mile drive to and from work, and the car gets peppered daily on this run now, especially on the drive home in the evenings.
Went out last summer for a run in a friend's M3, and the result of that is the shot below. Note the difference just between the leading edges and the rest of the bonet/hood. We actually had to slow down coz the windscreen wash/wipe could not keep up with the bugs hitting the screen. Then again, we were going at about 100mph
