saw this today and was thinking about that new law in Arizona, for those who dont know about it basically it gives police more power to enforce? is it? immigration in the state. im not 100% sure exactly what it entails, but from what ive read briefly, it'll essentially be the same as an american being asked to present paperwork while traveling in a foreign country. and ive also heard it be compared to nazi germany and a huge violation of rights.
whatta you all think? anyone from AZ more familiar w whats going on exactly?
i know racial profiling is common place in law enforcement anyways, is this just legal profiling now? huh

We actually talked about this in class today. From what I got out of the conversation, just by looking like you could be from Mexico, Arizona police can request to see your 'papers' or such identification as they please. It's no longer seen as a violation of rights in Arizona and is expected to be adopted across the southern states.
Everybody is making a big fuss about it because they see it as a law legalizing racial profiling.
and for the picture:

I saw so many different versions of that all around the valley today at work.
I also saw a group of people in central phoenix boycotting in the streets a few days back.
