Reading news about the hostages in Philippines got me really sadden. I don't need to go into details, but just want to say Rest In Peace fellow cantonese, and hope the families of the victims stay strong.
A very sad day for us.

I saw some footage of it. Those in charge of the operation were not capable of ending the situation peacefully and the attack was not thoroughly planned out. Innocent lives were lost because of that. So sad...

Michael, the different here is; Miners work in a very danger environment to begin with, so their lives are constantly in danger. Injuries and death is certainly what goes through the miner's head each and every day. They're paid to do the job and they are well prepared for the worst.
Not in this case, tourist paid to have a good times with the families and they certainly not expecting this type of violence.

Yeah, I don't even want to get into that detail, now I just worry their government won't do much to properly compensate the victims' families.
