Hi. My car is in the dealer right now. We are expecting a strong hurricane to come through where i live within the next 24 hours. Do you think my car will be ok at the dealer? Do they take any extra precautions

You've got bigger things to worry about than your car. Get out of there now!!! I wouldn't take 150mph winds lightly. My brother and his family are in Paradise Island, Bahamas and it went North of them, thank God.

I grew up in Miami, and have family there now. The dealers will want to do everything possible to prevent costly damage to their vehicles. They'll probably put as many cars as possible into the service garages and other areas as is possible during the winds. But in any event, they have to take care of any impact any car might incur, and would make good on anything in their possesion.

But depending on where your dealer is, how far south in South Florida, you might now have to worry if the winds don't get too fierce.

Good luck in any event, and remember your safety is most important, a car can be replaced......

(the max winds now are 105 mph and there won't be anything near that in Miami-Dade county...)

of course depends what part of south FL you're in, but in a pure answer to your question, while the car is in your dealer's possesion, it is his responsibility, in other words, if the storm damages it, his insurance should cover it. That being said, your car is a small bit of the worries you face, best of luck, and I'm glad to see that as of now, the storm has gotten a bit weaker.

Be safe my friend... This year has not been a good one for the Hurricanes... Here in NC we have been grazed a few times already... :'( but nothing like you in Fla.

Be safe!
