My Ride: 2010(60) BMW 520d SE, Manual, In Sophisto Grey with Cream/Black Interior and Piano Black trim
I was wondering that too. My only thoughts, are, (and I don't mean ANY offence by this whatsoever), that their parent's have either bought them for them, and wanted a safe big car, or they are driving their parent's cars maybe? Obviously, the 5er is a great car, and therefore there is every chance that they like them and prefer them to the 1 or 3 series, but for a 16-21 year old, surely a 1 or 3 series is a more preferable choice.
A 5er's for life, not just for christmas!

Thats gotta be true in alot of cases, but i'm 22, and lookin across that forecourt last year, it was only the 5 series that stood out, the three series at one side and six series at the other, and they didn't look a patch on the 5er.
