...how does Superman just point his arm in the air and suddenly fly upwards with super-fast acceleration? You'd think he'd at least have to bend his knees first to get some leverage using his super-powerful leg muscles to propel himself. Even more unrealistic and don't get me started on how while flying very fast he can suddenly just stop in mid-air without any kind of braking mechanism.

Of course none of the superhero movies are as unbelievable as TV/Film car chases where the baddies are in something like a Porsche, Ferrari or Lamborghini but the cops in their Crown Vics are keeping up with them.
